On May 2, 2010 at 1:25AM Hughesville was alerted to assist with a working house fire in Calvert County. Engine 22 (Dent) and Paramedic Ambulance 27 responded with 7 personnel and assisted on the scene for just over 3 hours. While Engine 22 was committed to the fire, Hughesville and surrounding units were alerted for a pedestrian struck on Oliver Shop Road. Squad 2, Paramedic Ambulance 27 and Chief 2A (Herbert) responded with 7 personnel. Units found one victim with serious injuries. He was MEDEVAC’d from the scene by Maryland State Police Trooper 2. Units operated for approximately 45 minutes.
