On May 4, 2010 at 2:08PM Hughesville was alerted to an auto accident with people trapped at Prince Frederick Road and Bucktown Road in Benedict’s first due area. Squad 2, Engine 22, Utility 2, Paramedic Ambulance 27 and Chief 2A (Herbert) responded with 13 personnel. Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 27 were the first to arrive. Units found a two vehicle head-on collision with one person trapped. Crews extricated the trapped driver and packaged both patients for transport. The one occupant was transported to a local hospital with CPR in progress and the second patient was MEDEVAC’d from the scene to an area trauma center. Crews from Hughesville operated on the scene for approximately 90 minutes.
