On Friday September 19, 2008 at 1:53 PM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and Waldorf EMS were alerted to Leonardtown Road at LaPlata Road for the auto accident with injuries involving an unloaded school bus. Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 28 arrived to find a school bus that was broadsided by a tractor trailer which caused the bus to spin around 180 degrees and strike an SUV that was sitting on LaPlata Road. One patient complained of minor injuries and Waldorf Ambulance 39 handled that transport to a local hospital. Squad 2’s crew put absorbent down on a fluid spill and cleared the scene. Paramedic Ambulance 28 got two signed refusals from the other drivers that were involved.
