On Tuesday August 1, 2006 the members of Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department & EMS join up with the Charles County Sheriffs Department for the 23rd Annual National Night Out. This year we went to four different neighborhoods, Carriage Crossing, Malcolm Area, Serenity Woods, and Independence Village.
This year we divided up into two groups Engine 23, Ambulance 27, and EMS Utility 2 went to Carriage Crossing. While there they gave a Fire Prevention talk, and a tour of the Eng. 23 and the Ambulance 27.
The crews from Squad 2, Tanker 2, and Ambulance 28 went to Malcolm Elementary, were they met with the people in the community and played a few games. Chief 2-A played a game of air hockey against McGruff, while the younger members played foosball.
Later in the evening we visited Independence Village and Serinity Woods. While we were visiting Independence Village, some of the guys played a good basketball game against the younger kids who live there.
