On June 30th at 620 PM, Hughesville Volunteers along with surrounding departments were alerted to Burnt Store Road and Old Blandford Pl for the motor vehicle collision extrication. Squad 2, Engine 24, Chief 2, Battalion Chief 2C, Paramedic Ambulance 27 made the response. Battalion 2C and Squad 2 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle into a tree with heavy entrapment. Units made access to the vehicle and determined the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was deceased. The remainder of the assignment was placed in service and units remained on scene to assist the Charles County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
