Units from Hughesville Fire and EMS, along with Dentsville EMS, were alerted to 12276 Dr. Edelen Road for an accident involving an ATV.

Dentsville’s first arriving ambulance 158 found a male patient sitting on his ATV with severe leg trauma. The initial assessment revealed that the patient was suffering from a possible femur fractured, a broken tib/fib and broken ankle. A helicopter was immediately called for, which brought U.S. Park Police’s Eagle 2.

The EMS crews packaged the patient and transported him to the landing zone where Hughesville’s squad 2 was standing by in a nearby field. The patient was the then medevaced to a local trauma center, where he underwent emergency surgery.
