On June 7, 2007 at 5:47 PM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and surrounding companies were alerted to the 8100 block of Old Leonardtown Road for the working barn fire. Engine 23 was the first arriving and found a 20′ X 30′ wooden shed fully involved with minor extension to a nearby office building. The fire was quickly knocked down and command held the units from Hughesville and Benedict to mop-up and check for extension. The Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to investigate. Chief 2 (Herbert) was the incident commander and the last unit cleared at 6:36 PM.
