On February 1, 2006 at 1:31 PM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and surrounding companies responded to the 15300 block of Sunset Drive for the working shed fire. Engine 23 arrived to find the correct location was Carrico Mill Road across from Sunset Drive. Engine 23’s crew found a shed and two vehicles fully involved with extension to a nearby one and a half story house. Engine 23 pulled an attack line and entered the house to check for fire. A second attack line was pulled and directed onto the shed. Tanker 2 arrived next and supplied Engine 23. Command held engines from Hughesville and Mechanicsville, Waldorf’s ladder truck and tankers from Hughesville, Benedict and LaPlata and Hughesville’s ambulance. Chief 2A (Herbert) was the incident commander and units cleared just before 3:00 PM.
