On February 10, 2006 at 2:59 AM units from Hughesville were alerted to 11285 Kerrick Court in LaPlata for the house fire. Squad 2, Tanker 2 and Ambulance 27 responded with 9 volunteers. First arriving Engine 11 (LaPlata) reported smoke showing. Squad 2 and Tanker 2 arrived after Engine 11, Tanker 1 and Engine 33 (Waldorf). Squad 2 took a position on side “D” as the first arriving special service. The squad crew assisted with “opening up” in the fire room, setting up lights and filling SCBA bottles. Tanker 2 assisted Tanker 1 with water supply. Ambulance 27 set up an aid station in front of the residence. Command held units from LaPlata, Waldorf, Hughesville and Bryans Road. Chief 1B (Gilroy) had the command and units from Hughesville cleared at 5:10 AM.
