On February 18th at approximately 1030 hours, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the 6500 Block of Ellenwood Drive in La Plata for the house fire. Engine 22 and Tanker 2 responded. First arriving units arrived to find a single family home with fire showing, which was being aided by heavy winds. Engine 22 arrived a short time later and laid out 500ft of supply line to supply water to the fire ground. After laying out, Engine 22 dumped its tank water and responded to the fill site to refill.

Due to water supply issues and weather conditions, Command requested a Water Supply task force brining Engine Tanker 2 to the scene. Tanker 2 and Engine Tanker 2 shuttled several loads of water. In all Hughesville Volunteers supplied the fire ground with over 23,000 gallons of water.

After the fire was extinguished, Units cleared the scene and returned to quarters.
