What did you do this past Friday? There was,no time for April Fool’s jokes for our volunteers.

Hughesville Volunteers responded to seven total calls including five structure through out the day. Even after a busy day, members took Friday evening to participate in training evolutions with multiple units in our first due area. Evolutions consisted of throwing ladders, pulling attack and supply lines, as well as additional fire ground functions. Once each evolution was complete, members met briefly to discuss the positives and negatives of the jobs to ensure we provide the best possible service to our community.

Hughesville VFD is also seeking new members. We are always accepting new applicants for Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, as well as, support and administrative staff. If you are interested in joining, please drop by at any time and see a station member to pick up an application. All training for fire and EMS members is FREE!!! If that’s not enough Charles County has a Length Of Service Awards Program (LOSAP). Eligible members receive a tax break on their Maryland State taxes, as well as additional benefits. Come join our family today!
