On December 7th at 11:26PM Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Waldorf VFD’s first due for the house fire. Squad 2 immediately responded to the scene. A short time later due to units being committed on a previous house fire assignment, Engine 22 was requested to respond and dispatched. Charles County Sheriffs Office Units arrived on the scene first and advised fire was coming from the roof.

First arriving units located fire through the roof on side “Charlie” with heavy smoke conditions. Units from Waldorf, Hughesville, Clinton, La Plata and Morningside made an aggressive interior attack. The bulk of the fire was contained within 30 minutes. After conducting extensive salvage and overhaul the units from Hughesville were released from the scene.
