On 09-02-05 at 8:30 AM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS, Benedict EMS, Waldorf EMS and the Mechanicsville Fire Department were alerted to Calabash Court at the end for a person trapped under a fallen tree. Units from Hughesville arrived to find a male who was cutting a fallen tree, when it rolled onto his leg. Firefighters from Hughesville used a 26 ton airbag to lift the tree off the victim’s leg. The victim signed a release and was not transported to the hospital. Lieutenant Mercure had the command and units operated for approximately thirty minutes.
