As an uneventful Monday was coming to a close, at 8:23 PM volunteer staffed Ambulance 27, was alerted to assist St. Mary’s county at Golden Beach road and Skyview Drive for the Motor Vehicle accident reported serious. Soon after the original dispatch additional information reported one possibly trapped alerting Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 28. Immediately after dispatch all three units responded with 9 personnel. St. Mary’s Squad 2 arrived and reported a mini-van (on it’s roof) versus an ATV with three patients, two of which were in serious condition. Squad 2 arrived and went to work setting up lights and stabilizing the mini-van, and also assisting with patient care and packaging. A medevac was requested for all three patients and Troopers 7 & 2 flew all three patients to PG Trauma Center. All units from Hughesville were back in service at 9:08 PM.
