On July 31, 2009 at 5:33 PM Squad 2 was alerted to Runningbrook Drive in Prince Frederick, Calvert County for the apartment building fire. Two minutes later Hughesville was alerted for an engine to respond on the same fire. Squad 2 and Engine 23 responded with a total of 8 personnel. First arriving units found a 3 story apartment building with heavy fire on three floors, along with a gas fed fire at the front of the building. Crews from Hughesville operated on the scene for approximately two hours.
