On August 3, 2009 at 6:28 AM, units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and surrounding companies were alerted to Woodville Road and Gallant Green Road for the motor vehicle accident with injuries and people trapped. Squad 2, Engine 23 and Paramedic Ambulance 27 responded with a total of 12 personnel and arrived to find a single vehicle accident with the only occupant trapped. The squad crew extricated the patient and assisted with packaging the patient. Due to the seriousness of the patients injuries, a medevac helicopter was requested. Maryland State Police Trooper 2 responded to the scene and transported the victim to a trauma center. Lieutenant Herbert had the command and units operated for just under one hour.
