On May 9, 2010 at 11:19PM, Squad 2 was alerted to assist with a house fire on Country Lane in the Pinefield section of Waldorf. Squad 2 (Eckstein) responded at dispatch with six personnel. Units from Waldorf arrived on Evergreen Drive to find a two story single family residence with fire showing. Squad 2 was the first arriving special service. The crew threw ladders to the second floor, set up lights in the front and rear, assisted inside with opening up the walls and ceilings and extinguishing fire. Crews from Waldorf, Westlake, Brandywine, Hughesville, La Plata, Bryans Road, Baden and Clinton worked to extinguish the fire and save what could be saved. The squad operated on the scene for almost three and a half hours. Chief 3 and Chief 3A worked together as the incident command.
