On June 7, 2005 units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and Mechanicsville Fire and EMS were alerted to the 8500 block of Leonardtown Road for the auto accident with people trapped. Engine 22 and Tanker 2 were returning from another call and responded immediately. Engine 23 also responded from the station. Units arrived to find a single vehicle into a pole with the driver trapped. Crews removed the roof, doors and displaced the dash to free the driver. The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Chief 2B (McPherson) had the command and units operated on the scene for approximately 30 minutes.
