On October 28, 2007 at 2:13 AM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and Dentsville EMS were alerted to the 9400 block of Trinity Church Road for the auto accident. Moments later the assignment was upgraded because additional callers were reporting a person trapped under an overturned vehicle. Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 28 responded with 9 personnel and arrived to find one person pinned under the vehicle and another who had also been ejected. The only part of the pinned victim that was visible was her foot sticking out from under the vehicle. Crews stabilized the trunk area of the vehicle and lifted the front end using both the “Hurst Jaws” and four different air bags. Part of the roof area was also cut away using hydraulic, battery powered and electric tools. The patient was then removed from under the vehicle and medevaced from the scene by U.S. Park Police Eagle 1. The other occupant was also medevaced from the scene by Maryland State Police Trooper 7. Tanker 2 handled both landing zones in a field at the scene. Crews operated on the scene for approximately 90 minutes.
