During the time period of 12 pm Saturday August 27th and 6 pm Sunday August 28th the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad responded to 59 calls for assistance. These calls consisted from trees on structures, auto accidents, emergency medical calls, power lines down or arching, and down trees across roadways. Approximately 30 Volunteer Fire and EMS and 2 Department of Emergency Services (Paramedic Ambulance Crew) personnel staffed the station over the weekend during the Hurricane.
