On June 21, 2004, units from Waldorf and surrounding companies were alerted to Leonardtown Road and Tommy Middleton Lane for a reported barn fire. First arriving Chief 3A (Embry) found a 25′ x 30′ barn with fire throughout the inside of the structure.

Units quickly knocked the fire down, which was determined to be hay burning inside the structure. Hughesville’s Tanker 2 arrived second and supplied water to engine 32. Hughesville’s Engine 22 rerouted to a nearby hydrant. Once at the hydrant, they supplied tankers that were utilized. Units cleared in less than 1 hour.
