On 02-26-08 at 6:56 AM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS were alerted to assist with a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Kentucky Avenue. Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 28 arrived to assist units on the scene with an extensive extrication. A passenger car slid sideways and struck a tree, driver’s door first. The single occupant was pinned by the door, roof, dash and firewall area. The roof was removed, the driver’s door was removed and what was left of the dash was rolled forward to free the occupant. The victim was transported to a landing zone by Paramedic Ambulance 28 and medevaced from the scene by Maryland State Police Trooper 2. Bel Alton Chief 10 (Nyers) had the command. Squad 2 returned to quarters at 8:28 AM.
