In the early morning hours (0243) of Wednesday Dec. 3rd 2008 Hughesville Volunteer’s were alerted for the working house fire at 8558 Cooksey Road in Co. 10’s area. Immediately after dispatch Engine 23 responded, with a crew of 6 personnel (sleep-in crew) followed shortly after by the Tanker with 2 personnel. Chief 10B (C. Frye) arrived on scene with a single story home with fire showing from all sides and established the “Cooksey Road” command. After arrival Engine 23 was assigned to the RIT duties by Command and Tanker 2 was held for Water supply. All Co. 2 units cleared at 03:49 hours.
