On October 21st at approximately 6:01 pm, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted at Arby’s on Market Drive in Mechanicsville (St Mary’s County) for the Structure Fire. Engine 22, Tanker 2 and Chief 2 made the response.

Engine 22 arrived first to find a single story commercial restaurant with nothing evident. The crew went inside and discovered a small fire contained to the deep fryer. The fire was quickly extinguished and the assignment was scaled back to the units from Company 2 and St. Mary’s Company 2. The St. Mary’s County Health Department was requested to respond.
