On September 2, 2010 at 8:43PM, units from Benedict Fire and EMS and Hughesville Fire were alerted to the 6800 block of Hallowing Lane in Calvert County for the working trailer fire with possible people trapped. Engine 23 (Mercure) responded at dispatch with six personnel. First arriving units found a heavily involved trailer and three victims with various burns. Engine 23 was directed to a large parking lot that allowed us access to the rear of the trailer. The crew advanced a 200′ cross-lay, breached a six foot privacy fence and assisted with extinguishment. Engine 23 was supplied by Calvert Engine 6 who was being supplied by Benedict Tanker 5. After the bulk of the fire was knocked down, command requested that we handle the landing site for two helicopters that were inbound to medi-evac two victims. Engine 23 handled that assignment for Maryland State Police Trooper 7 and United States Park Police Eagle 2. One additional victim was transported by ground to a local hospital. Engine 23 operated on the scene for approximately 90 minutes.

Both ambulances from Hughesville, Ambulance 28 and Paramedic Ambulance 168 also responded on this fire, but neither transported.
