On November 1, 2009 at 11:51PM, units from Hughesville, Benedict and Mechanicsville were alerted to an undetermined fire on Burnt Store Road near Oliver Shop Road. Engine 23 responded at dispatch with six personnel and arrived to find a fully involved truck fire. The truck was extinguished and other responding units were cancelled prior to their arrival. Engine 23 remained on the scene to assist the Fire Marshal’s Office and cleared after approximately 90 minutes.
