On April 13, 2008 units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and surrounding companies were alerted to Charles Street at Trinity Church Road for the auto accident with injuries and people trapped. Dentsville Ambulance 158 was the first arriving and reported no people trapped. Chief 2A (Thomas) put Squad 10 (Bel Alton) in service after hearing that information. Squad 2, Engine 22, Paramedic Ambulance 28 and Chief 2A arrived next with a total of 10 personnel. Crews found a two vehicle T-Bone style accident with two patients. A medevac helicopter was requested for both patients, which brought Maryland State Police Trooper 2 to the scene. Engine 22 cleared the accident scene and handled the landing zone in a nearby field. Both patients were medevaced from the scene to an area trauma center. Chief 2A (Thomas) had the command and units operated for approximately 1 hour.
