On July 19, 2005 at 8:46 AM (11 minutes after returning from a two alarm fire) units from Hughesville Fire and EMS and Dentsville EMS were alerted to Oliver Shop Road at Oaks Road for an auto accident. Squad 2 and Ambulance 27 arrived to find a minivan that struck a large brick pillar. After a quick assessment, the EMS crew requested a medevac helicopter for the injured driver of the vehicle.

Once the second ambulance arrived and assessed the passenger, the decision was made to medevac him as well. Maryland State Police Trooper 8 responded and medevaced both patients to an area trauma center. Tanker 2 established the landing zone for Trooper 8 on the scene in a field. Lieutenant Mercure was the incident commander and units cleared at 9:52 AM.
