On 09-10-07 members of the apparatus committee traveled to the Pierce factory in Appleton, Wisconsin for an engineering conference on the new Engine 22. A contract was signed on May 1, 2007 with Pierce for a 2008 Pierce Velocity pumper. This new pumper will have a six person cab, carry 750 gallons of water, a 1500 gallon per minute pump and a 10,000 watt Harrison generator. It will have an overhead ladder storage rack which will allow for full height compartments on both the driver and officer’s sides. It will have 7 pre-connected attack lines with a total of 1300′ of 1 3/4″ hose, 400′ of 2 1/2″ hose and 1500′ of 3″ supply line. Final issues were decided on and it will hopefully hit the assembly line in October. Delivery is expected sometime near the end of March. Committee members who traveled to Wisconsin were Eddie McPherson, Mike Carroll, Scott Hutchinson, Patrick Jenkins, Gary Thompson and Todd Connick. Jimmy Therres is also on the committee, but could not make the trip because of work.
