Again this year, Hughesville was asked to assist with the annual Joint Services Open House held at Andrews Air Force Base. Hughesville assisted with an engine on Saturday, then an engine and brush truck on Sunday. Saturday’s crowd was estimated at approximately 80,000 people and Sunday’s crowd was estimated at approximately 110,000 people. Crews assisted with treating several minor medical emergencies during the weekend while on the stand-by. Personnel also gave the attendees tours of the apparatus and provided fire prevention information.
