On 03/20/05 at approximately 2148 hours Mechanicsville Fire Department along with Hughesville and Waldorf fire departments were alerted to 29692 Finch Court in Laurel Ridge subdivision for a reported shed Fire. Hughesville responded with Engine 23 under the command of FF Brad Saunders. Mechanicsville Ambulance 295 arrived on scene first and reported a working shed fire. Engine 23 arrived simultaneously with Mechanicsville engine 222 and engine 23 to find two 10X10 sheds well off. Mechanicsville Engine 222 dropped a supply line and proceeded to the front of the shed, while Engine 23 dropped a supply line and proceeded to the rear of the sheds to assist in extinguishment and to protect a near by house. Mechanicsville engine 23 picked up both lines and was supplied by a nearby hydrant. The fire was brought under control in about five minutes and Engine 23 cleared the scene at 2258 hours.
