On 10-12-07 at 4:12 AM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS were alerted to assist with a working house fire on Dr. Samuel Mudd Road in Waldorf. First arriving Paramedic Ambulance 27 found a two story single family house fully involved. Waldorf Engine 31 arrived next and began exterior operations. Tanker 2 arrived next, supplied Engine 31 and set up the folding tank for the next arriving tanker to fill. Engine 23 went to the underground storage tank on Young Road and established a fill site for the tankers. Moments after Engine 31 arrived, the house collapsed. Units operated on the scene for approximately 2 hours.
