At about 10:34 p.m. on November 30, units from The Hughesville Fire and EMS were alerted to respond to a motor vehicle accident with reports of an overturned vehicle. Squad 2 arrived to find a small pick-up truck on its side, literally wrapped around a tree.
The Squad crew quickly stabilized the vehicle and began to remove the front windshield to gain patient access. Squad 2 established command and asked for an additional engine to assist with patient removal. This brought Engine 23 to the scene who assisted with patient removal. Due to the severe damage to the vehicle, the EMS crews requested a medic unit and a helicopter to transport the patient to a trauma center for precaution and due to the mechanism of injury sustained. Engine 23 handled the landing zone for trooper 7.
Chief 2A (Herbert) was incident commander
