On February 8, 2007 at 4:21 PM, Hughesville was alerted for the engine and tanker to respond to the 22900 block of Christ Church Road in Prince George’s County for the house fire. Tanker 2 responded at dispatch with six personnel and was the first arriving with a working fire. The residence was a single story, single family home and crews encountered heavy smoke showing from all four sides. Crews advanced two 1 3/4″ attack lines into the house and found heavy fire rolling down the hallway as well as a rear bedroom. Prince George’s County units arrived and advanced the 300′ 1 3/4″ line inside as well. The fire was extinguished and all occupants had escaped prior to our arrival. One child suffered burns and was medevaced from the scene by Maryland State Police Trooper 2. Engine 22 also responded as well as numerous units from Prince George’s County, Charles County, Calvert County and St. Mary’s County. Units cleared the scene at 7:14 PM.
