On October 15, 2010 at 11:06 PM, Squad 2 was alerted for the working house fire in the 10,800 block of Hopewell Place in La Plata. Squad 2 (McPherson) responded with a crew of four. First arriving units found a single story single family home with heavy fire through approximately 60% of it. An interior attack was initiated and Squad 2 was directed to conduct the primary search. As the squad crew entered the structure and began to search, command called for the evacuation of all firefighters due to the water supply issues. Once the water supply was established, crews entered the structure and extinguished the fire. Both primary and secondary searches were negative and all occupants of the home were accounted for. The squad operated for approximately 2 hours.

Units from La Plata, Waldorf, Westlake, Bel Alton, Hughesville, Bryans Road and Marbury operated on this fire.
