On July 1, 2003 at 1748 hours, units from Co.2 Hughesville, Co.5 Benedict and Co.60 Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit were alerted to Prince Frederick Road west of Brandywine Road for the auto accident with injuries and people trapped.
Squad 2, under the command of Captain Tony Rose Sr. and a crew of six, was returning from a previous auto accident and responded immediately as well as Ambulance 27.
Units arrived to find a passenger car and a utility “box type” truck that had collided head-on with each other. The occupant of the car was trapped and was extricated by the crew from Squad 2 in a matter of minutes. Once extricated, the victim was flown to an area trauma center by Trooper 7, and the driver of the truck signed a refusal.
Captain 2 Tony Rose Sr. was the incident commander and the last unit cleared at 1838 hours.
