On 10-17-05 at 4:35 PM units from Hughesville Fire and EMS, Benedict Fire and EMS and Waldorf EMS were alerted to Leonardtown Road at Cracklingtown Road for the auto accident with injuries and people trapped. Units from Hughesville arrived to find a two vehicle “T-Bone” type collision with one person trapped. Crews from Squad 2, Tanker 2 and Engine 52 extricated the trapped driver and turned her over to awaiting EMS crews for treatment and transport. She was medevaced from the scene by Maryland State Police Trooper 2 and taken to an area trauma center. The driver of the second vehicle was evaluated by Benedict Ambulance 58 and refused transport. Units cleared at 5:13 PM.
