Around 12:30 a.m. Hughesville Fire/EMS and Benedict EMS were alerted to Burnt Store Road and Masontown Place for an MVA with reports of one overturned. First arriving Chief 2A found a single vehicle overturned in the middle of a field with power lines and the power pole down, but nobody in the vehicle.

After investigating further, a nearby homeowner came out and advised he had the driver of the vehicle in his residence. The EMS crews were sent to the house to evaluate the subject as the Squad crew assessed the vehicle. After interaction with the patient the EMS crew requested a helicopter for the injuries that the driver recieved from, cutting the pole completely off and rolling his car twice before it came to rest on its top.

The patient was packaged and transported to the helicopter as the crew from the Squad awaited SMECO to secure the power lines.
