On January 31st at at approximately 9:09 AM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to the 4400 Block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf for the motor vehicle collision with subjects trapped. Squad 2 made the response. While responding the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene and confirmed a subject was trapped. Waldorf VFD arrived shortly after and began extrication. Squad 2 arrived and went to work assisting the units from Waldorf VFD. The victim was extricated and due to the extent of the injuries a helicopter was requested. Maryland State Police Trooper 2 responded for the transport. La Plata Truck 1 shut down Leonardtown Road and the helicopter landed near the scene of the collision. Once the patient was loaded, units cleared the scene. Squad 2 operated on scene for approximately 40 minutes.
