On November 23rd, at approximately 0749 AM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted to Leonardtown Road in the area of Carrico Mill Road for a motor vehicle collision. Moments later, the assignment was upgraded to a report of someone trapped. Additional units from Benedict VFD, Dentsville VFD, and Mechanicsville were alerted to the call.

Squad 2, Engine 22, and Battalion Chief 2B responded. Squad 2 arrived on the scene to find a single-vehicle collision, with the vehicle off the roadway into a tree. The crew quickly stabilized the vehicle and popped the driver’s door to gain access to the patient and remove them. Once the extrication was complete, the balance of the assignment was cancelled. The patient was brought back to the roadway, where they were treated and transported to an area trauma center. Battalion Chief 2B held the command.
