On July 4th, at approximately 1138PM, Hughesville Volunteers were alerted mutual aid to St Mary’s County for the structure fire. Chief 2A, Chief 2B, Engine 22 and Tanker 2 made the response.

First arriving units from Mechanicsville, advised of a two story single family home with fire through the roof. Engine 22 arrived on scene a short time later and was assigned to Division 1. The crew from Engine 22, assisted by Chief 2A and Chief 2B, entered the structure and completed a primary search of the first floor, before going to side “Charlie” and assisting with opening up the structure and extinguishment.

Tanker 2 assisted with water supply operations, shuttling water from Grand View Haven subdivision to the fire ground.

The units from Hughesville operated on the scene for nearly 2 hours before being released and returning to quarters.
