On 05-26-10 at 2:34 AM units from Hughesville, Mechanicsville, Benedict and Waldorf were alerted to Smokehouse Row Lane for the undetermined fire. Engine 23 (Eckstein) responded at dispatch with 6 personnel. Engine 23 arrived to find an approximately 40 foot boat fully involved. Engine 24, Utility 2 and Chief 2B (Hutchinson) arrived next with an additional 3 personnel. Chief 2B held the units from Hughesville and Benedict Tanker 5 only. The fire was extinguished and the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. Units cleared at 3:57 AM.
