On 7-30-2003 at 1602Hrs Hughesville Fire and EMS, along with Dentsville EMS were alerted to respond to Oliver Shop Road 1 mile off of Leonardtown Road for the single vehicle accident reported one overturned. Ambulance 28 was the first arriving unit at 1608, reporting a mail truck on it’s side with the occupant still inside. Squad 2 arrived a short time later and established command. Ambulance 28 determined there was one patient uninjured in the vehicle that needed assistance getting out. Ambulance 28’s crew used the ignition key to unlock the back door to let the driver out. Dentsville EMS was placed in service. Squad 2 handled the clean up of engine fluids and Ambulance 28 obtained a signed release from the driver of the vehicle. The last unit cleared at 1631Hrs.
