On 11-16-05 at 10:25 PM units were alerted to the 8200 block of Leonardtown Road for the auto accident with people trapped. Units arrived to find a single vehicle accident with one person trapped in the passenger’s seat. One additional victim was also injured in the accident. Crews from Hughesville and Benedict worked to extricate the passenger while EMS crews cared for him. He was extricated and transported to a nearby landing zone where Maryland State Police Trooper 7 had landed. Tanker 2 established the landing zone for the Trooper. Chief 2A (Herbert) was the incident commander and Chief 2B (Thomas) had the rescue sector. Units cleared at 11:30 PM.
