On October 26, 2004, units from Hughesville Fire and EMS were alerted to Three Notch Road and Oaks Road in St. Mary’s County for an auto accident with injuries and people trapped.

Units from Hughesville and Mechanicsville arrived to find a two vehicle “t-bone” type collision with two seriously injured victims. The door of one vehicle was removed so that EMS crews could gain access to the injured victim. Both victims were medevaced from the scene by MSP helicopters to a local trauma center. Hughesville units cleared the scene after operating for about 50 minutes.
