On 09-05-04 Hughesville and Benedict volunteers conducted live fire training with a donated house in the 7600 block of Leonardtown Road. During this training, new and experienced firefighters practice various fireground duties such as attacking the fire, ventilating and salvage and overhaul. The training was a good experience for both new and experienced firefighters. Once the training was complete, the house was burned to the ground so the owner could clear the lot.
