On May 4, 2003 at 1315 hours units from Co.2 Hughesville and Co.5 Benedict EMS were alerted to Prince Frederick Road at Thorne Place for the auto accident with injuries. Units arrived to find a motorcycle and a passenger car that struck head-on.

Crews began evaluating the two victims and determined the motorcycle operator was deceased. The other victim was transported priority 3 to Civista Medical Center. Chief 2A Scott Herbert was the incident commander and the last unit cleared at 1552 hours.
