On 03-27-05 at approximately 3:47 AM, Hughesville volunteers were alerted to assist the Bel Alton Fire and EMS with a serious auto accident on Kentucky Avenue off of Bowling Drive. Engine 23 responded with a crew of six under the command of Lieutenant Herbert. Units from Bel Alton and Dentsville EMS arrived to find a single vehicle into a tree with the only occupant trapped in the vehicle. EMS crews evaluated the victim and determined he was deceased. Engine 23’s crew assisted with the extrication and returned to service. Chief 10 had the command and Engine 23 cleared at 4:23 AM.
