On 8-30-07 Squad 2 was returning from a building fire in Waldorf and was alerted to respond to Calvert County for a serious accident involving a tractor trailer. Squad 2 responded from Leonardtown Road and LaPlata Road with a crew of four. First arriving units found a three vehicle accident with a tractor trailer on top of a passenger car on fire. Squad 2 arrived and assisted with the extinguishment of both the passenger car and the tractor trailer. Tanker 2 responded to the scene as well and supplied units from Calvert. The passenger car was completely destroyed by fire and was underneath the cab of the tractor trailer. It appears there was only one occupant in that passenger car who was killed. The driver of the tractor trailer was transported from the scene and the driver of the third vehicle was not transported.
