On Thursday March 22nd at 3:55 PM, Engine Co. 2 was alerted to 12649 Willow View Place for the reported townhouse fire. Engine 23 responded with Sgt. Harris and 3 personnel. Immediately after going on the air St. Mary’s county dispatched a working single family house fire at 40781 Parlett Morgan Road, requesting the Engine and Tanker from Hughesville. Engine 23 was placed in service while enroute to the call in Waldorf, and responded to the call in St. Mary’s. Upon arrival Engine 23 was given interior operations and the crew began pulling the ceiling and extinguishing the fire in the attic. Crews were then ordered out of the structure and Leonardtown’s Truck 1 began ladder-pipe operations. Crews then went back inside and began salvage and overhaul operations. Tanker 2 assisted in water supply upon their arrival, was later released and filled-in at Mechanicsville Station 2. All Hughesville units were back in service at 6:00 PM.
